Former President Trump took a swing at Vice President Harris’s recently unveiled economic plan, saying the Democratic presidential nominee had gone “full communist.”
“In her speech yesterday, Kamala went full communist. You heard that? She went full communist,” Trump told supporters during a lively swing-state rally Saturday at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania.
Calling her “Comrade Kamala,” the Republican presidential nominee blasted her “socialist price controls.”
Trump’s Critique of Harris’s Economic Plan
“Comrade Kamala announced that she wants to institute socialist price controls. You saw that? Never worked before,” he said. “This is the [President Nicolás] Maduro plan in Venezuela [of government price controls], the Maduro plan of the old Soviet Union.”
“They tried it there,” he added. “And how did the Soviet Union turn out?”
Trump said Harris’ plan for federal price controls, which her campaign packaged as a solution to “price gouging,” “excessive prices” and “excessive corporate profits,” will lead to rationing and skyrocketing prices.
“It will cause rationing, hunger, and skyrocketing prices,” Trump said. “Just like [the Biden-Harris administration’s] Inflation Reduction Act, which is one of the great scams of all time. Inflation has been so bad, it’s gone up much more than 50%. They say 30%, 40% — many more people are being devastated.”
The ‘Kamalanomics’ Plan
On Wednesday, Harris announced that, as president, she would institute a federal price-fixing plan “on food and groceries” in an attempt to stop “big corporations” from taking advantage of consumers.
Harris has framed her economic roadmap, dubbed “Kamalanomics” by social media pundits, as an “opportunity economy” plan. Her price control plan includes expanded down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers and a $6,000 child tax credit for first-time parents.
Kamalanomics vs. Reality: A Comparison
Kamalanomics Proposal | Historical Outcome |
---|---|
Price controls on food and groceries | Shortages and black markets in Venezuela |
Expanded down payment assistance | Housing market bubbles and crashes |
$6,000 child tax credit for first-time parents | Increased national debt and tax burden |
Trump’s Criticism of Socialist Policies
Trump said Harris’ economic policy will not work, pointing out that similar price fixing has been tried — unsuccessfully — by other countries throughout history.
“The things that she said yesterday don’t work. They have never worked,” he emphasized. “They’ve been used by many countries, and in every single event, it ruined those countries.”
He said Harris is promising “things she can’t deliver.”
“It’s a communist system. … She’s promising to hand out things she can’t deliver. She’ll never get them approved,” he said. “Just like when she and Crooked Joe tried to give away student debt. How did that work out? Not too good.”
The Student Debt Debacle
Trump turned his attention to young voters who looked favorably at Biden’s promise to eliminate student debt, saying a communist takeover may sound good politically but is “very dangerous.”
“The students are saying, ‘I love him because of student debt,’ but he got rejected,” Trump said. “Her plan is very dangerous because it may sound good politically, and that’s the problem. … This is Marxist, this is fascist.”
Conservative Commentary: The Red Scare Returns
Well, folks, it looks like we’re taking a trip down memory lane, and not the good kind. Kamala Harris seems to be dusting off the old Soviet playbook, and let me tell you, it’s not exactly a bestseller for a reason. Her “Kamalanomics” sounds more like a bad joke than a serious economic policy. But hey, who needs a functioning economy when you can have bread lines and empty shelves, right?
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the irony here. The Democrats, who love to paint themselves as the party of progress, are now championing economic ideas that were outdated before the Berlin Wall fell. It’s like they’re trying to win a costume contest for “Best Dressed Communist,” and Harris is going for gold.
Remember when the left used to accuse Trump of being in bed with the Russians? Well, it turns out they were just jealous of the Soviet economic model. Who knew that when they said they wanted to “Build Back Better,” they meant build back to 1950s Moscow?
A Historical Perspective: When Socialism Met Reality
Let’s take a quick history lesson, shall we? Every time socialism has been tried, it’s failed spectacularly. Venezuela, once the richest country in South America, is now known for its thriving tourism industry… if by tourism you mean people fleeing the country in droves.
The Soviet Union? Well, they certainly achieved equality – everyone was equally miserable. Except for the party elites, of course. Sound familiar, Comrade Kamala?
And let’s not forget the brilliant economic policies of East Germany. They were so successful that they had to build a wall to keep people from leaving. Maybe that’s Harris’s real plan for border control?
Republican Success Stories: A Stark Contrast
While the Democrats are busy trying to resurrect failed economic policies, let’s remind ourselves of some Republican success stories. Under President Trump’s leadership, before the pandemic hit, we saw:
- Record-low unemployment rates, especially for minority communities
- A booming stock market that benefited millions of Americans’ retirement accounts
- Energy independence, making America a net exporter of oil for the first time in decades
- Historic tax cuts that put more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans
These aren’t just talking points; these are real achievements that improved the lives of everyday Americans. And they were achieved through free-market principles, not by government control and handouts.
Conclusion: The American Dream vs. The Communist Scheme
In the end, what Harris and the Democrats are proposing isn’t just bad economics – it’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what makes America great. Our country was built on the principles of freedom, individual responsibility, and the opportunity to succeed through hard work.
The American Dream isn’t about government handouts or price controls. It’s about creating an environment where anyone, regardless of their background, can work hard and achieve success. It’s about innovation, entrepreneurship, and the freedom to pursue your own path.
So while Kamala Harris is busy trying to turn the Land of the Free into the Land of the Freebie, let’s remember what really works: limited government, free markets, and the indomitable spirit of the American people. That’s a policy we can all get behind – no hammer and sickle required.
