The Latest Democratic Duo: Harris and Walz
Well, folks, buckle up because the latest episode of “Who’s That Democrat?” has dropped, and boy, are we in for a ride. Vice President Kamala Harris has decided to make Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz her running mate for 2024, and let me tell you, he’s about as well-known as a snow shovel in Florida. Voters in Pennsylvania had some pretty spicy reactions to this surprising pick, and we’ve got the scoop!
Pennsylvania Voters React
First up, Sheila Armstrong from Philadelphia. She’s heard of French toast, she’s heard of French fries, but Tim Walz? Not so much! “Never heard of him,” Sheila remarked, scratching her head and wondering if Minnesota was somewhere near Mars. “I was looking on the map where Minnesota was at again.” Classic Sheila!
Then there’s Thomas Quinn from Downingtown. He admitted, “I don’t really know much about him. I understand it takes a lot to be a governor. And I also understand that he’s a veteran… So I really don’t know that much about it, but I’ll do my reading.” Good for you, Tom! Nothing like a little light reading to figure out what Tim Walz has been up to. Spoiler alert: He’s got a lengthy liberal playbook.
Voter | Location | Reaction |
---|---|---|
Sheila Armstrong | Philadelphia | “Never heard of him” |
Thomas Quinn | Downingtown | “I’ll do my reading” |
Cliff Skinner | Not specified | “Not really too impressed” |
And let’s not forget Cliff Skinner, who was “not really too impressed” by the selection. Cliff weighed in with the wisdom of a man who’s seen it all: “Two liberals, birds of a feather, flock together.” I mean, can you blame him? Harris and Walz sounds like the beginning of a bad joke. Where’s the punchline?
Over in South Philadelphia, Perry Petrongola summed it up nicely, “I believe he’s the governor of Minnesota. He’s very liberal and against guns.” Well, there you have it. Another liberal, more confusion.
Strong Opinions Surface
Now, Leah Hoops from Delaware County didn’t mince words. She declared, “I know that he is extremely left, and he also is in agreement with sexual reassignment of, and mutilating young kids. And he is also allowing illegals to vote in our elections.” If that doesn’t get you thinking, I don’t know what will. But honestly, Leah, tell us how you really feel.
Linda DellaPia from South Philadelphia brought up a solid point, referencing the 2020 riots in Minnesota following George Floyd’s death. “Look at the raids that happened in his home state, that he allowed it, and he actually bailed people out,” she said. “Why didn’t he bring in the national services – the National Guard – to actually help alleviate some of those tensions?” Harris sure knows how to pick ’em!
Political Commentary
Then, Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., chimed in. “Gov. Walz is a self-proclaimed socialist… as opposed to someone like Josh Shapiro, who’s quite liberal and quite left-leaning, but apparently a little too rational and sane for them,” he explained. You’ve got to chuckle when a guy who’s “rational and sane” doesn’t even make the shortlist for the Democrats.
And just when you thought these reactions couldn’t get any better, our Trump-Vance friends were actually thankful for Walz as Harris’ pick. “I’m glad she didn’t pick Shapiro,” DellaPia said. Armstrong echoed this, saying, “I’m just happy she didn’t pick Josh Shapiro.” Lucky for Kamala, she didn’t have to deal with the embarrassment of knowing one Pennsylvania voter!
Final Thoughts
Pennsylvania politics are already crazier than a squirrel at a nut farm. Adding Josh Shapiro into the mix would’ve made it nuttier. So, the choice of Tim Walz? Well, it’s like ordering tofu instead of steak – not everyone’s going to be pleased. But we’re betting they’re still figuring out where those Pennsylvania towns are. Stay tuned; this comedy of errors is just getting started!
Here’s to a political scene that’s never boring and always gives us something to write home about!
